Cynthia Veintemillas is an experienced Florida criminal defense attorney. She is a zealously advocates for her clients and pays close attention to their cases. She has the will to fight for each and every client.
Cynthia started working at the Duval County Office of the Public Defender in 2005. While in law school, she interned with the Office of the Public Defender where she discovered her desire to help people charged with crimes. Then, she worked in the investigations department assisting attorneys with the investigation and defense of criminal ases. After being admitted to the Florida Bar in 2006, she immediately became an Assistant Public Defender and began working as a Jacksonville criminal lawyer. As a former assistant public defender, she has represented a diverse group of clients in every phase of criminal proceeding. This ranged from bond hearings to sentencing hearing and from motion hearings to jury trials. She realizes that her clients’ liberty is at stake and works to protect them.
Cynthia understands that every case is different. She listens to her client’s individual needs, so she may develop trial strategies or a favorable disposition for the case. She has negotiated hundreds of cases. Many resulting in the dismissal of charges or favorable plea deals. She has fought criminal cases at trials.
Cynthia entered private law practice in 2008. She expanded her areas of practice beyond Florida Criminal Defense. Due to the growing need for support of Jacksonville Juvenile Delinquents, she became a Jacksonville juvenile lawyer. She believes in the importance of protecting a juvenile from a criminal record. She also works to help people seal and expunge Florida criminal records. She knows the affect that a criminal record can have on a person and that sealing or expunging a Florida record can help.
Cynthia Veintemillas has a strong academic background. She graduated with honors and at the top of her class from Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida. She was on the Dean’s List and an active member of the Florida Coastal School of Law Mock Trial Team and Law Review. She has been admitted to practice law in both Florida and South Carolina, obtaining high scores on the bar exams of both states. She continues to further her education by attending and actively participating in legal training seminars.
